DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth has decided to update their visitor policy as a highly transmittable variant of COVID-19 has arrived in Minnesota.
Under the new policy, with just a few exceptions, no visitors are allowed at the hospital until further notice.
Among exceptions are a parent or guardian for pediatric patients and healthcare teams could allow a helper for vulnerable adults.
Although the COVID vaccine appears to be effective against the new United Kingdom variant, St. Luke’s took action to limit visitors because it is much more contagious.
The new policy is now in effect and may be adjusted again depending on COVID rates in the region.
