ST. PAUL, MN (CBS-3) – Part of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s next phase of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan includes a large-scale community vaccination clinic opening for those 65 and older in Duluth.
Walz’s Monday morning announcement comes as Minnesota sees an increased vaccine supply and after a “successful” two-week pilot program testing the concept of community vaccination clinics.
The state has not publicly shared where the Duluth vaccination clinic will be located or when exactly it will open.
Along with the Duluth clinic, Walz said the state is sending additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine to more than 100 hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers to administer vaccines to Minnesota seniors.
Walz said the goal is to help Minnesota’s seniors get vaccinated in their own communities.
To help those 65 and older find a local vaccine opportunity near them, Minnesota launched an online finder tool Monday morning.

Along with the permanent clinic in Duluth, the state is also opening a large-scale permanent vaccination site in Minneapolis.
A third site is expected to open in southern Minnesota next week with potential additional locations in the future.
