DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Smoke from Canadian wildfires in Ontario and Manitoba has been drifting into northern Minnesota over the past several days.
An air quality alert has been expanded by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to include all of northeast Minnesota until 9 a-m on Friday.
During the alert, sensitive groups of people, such as those with asthma and heart disease should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors while the general public should limit such activities.
The air quality is expected to improve as southerly winds develop on Friday, pushing the smoke back to the north.
