DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Board is expected to authorize the purchase of 110 body cameras for use by the Sheriff’s Department.
Following an increase in deadly force encounters in recent years, the cameras would assist in investigations, increase transparency and accountability and help dispel rumors.
Public comment is being sought on the proposed policy regarding the use of the cameras.
Comments will be taken at the December 14th Board meeting or can be submitted by email to slcsheriff@stlouiscountymn.gov.
The cost of the cameras with all supporting accessories and equipment is 790 thousand dollars.
