DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A powerful storm system will bring high winds, rain, a chance of thunderstorms and then cold and snow to the region Wednesday into Thursday.
The National Weather Service Office in Duluth has a High Wind Warning is up for northern Wisconsin and a Wind Advisory for northeast Minnesota through Thursday morning.
There is also a Storm Warning in effect for Lake Superior with five to eight foot waves possible.
Winds will approach and maybe surpass 50 miles per hour which could lead to downed trees and power lines.
The rain is expected to mix with freezing rain and snow Wednesday night and could leave a coating of ice followed by a couple of inches of snow.
Hazardous driving conditions are possible Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
