DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Winter Storm Warning for Lake and Cook Counties has been extended to south St. Louis County and Carlton County through Thursday morning.
After around four inches of heavy wet snow fell overnight in parts of the Duluth area, another 4 to 6 inches is possible later Wednesday into Thursday.
Besides slippery road conditions, the slushy snow could stick to trees and power lines creating potential power outages.
The rest of northern Minnesota and Wisconsin is under Winter Weather Advisories into Friday for a mixture of rain and snow.
Accumulations of 3 to 5 inches of snow is possible in the advisory areas with more possible along the south shore of Lake Superior.

UPDATE: As of Wednesday morning, the Winter Storm Warning in southern St. Louis County (including Duluth) and Carlton County has been cancelled and replaced with a Winter Weather Advisory.
