DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Officers from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force have arrested 32 year old Cordaro Ware in connection with an overdose death in November of last year.
Following an extensive investigation, Ware was charged with third degree murder for selling the drugs that led to the death of 28 year old Kaylee Englin in Midway Township.
The cause of death was determined to be a combination of illegal drugs including fentanyl, morphine and an animal tranquilizer called xylazine.
The Minnesota Department of Health says there were 36 opioid overdose deaths in St. Louis County in 2020, an increase of 240 percent from the year before.
The Sheriff’s Department urges caution for those struggling with addiction since fentanyl is often mixed with and sold as other drugs. Just a small amount of fentanyl, which is 50 times more potent than heroin, can be lethal.
