UNDATED (KDAL) – If early voting in Minnesota and Wisconsin is any indication, interest in Tuesday’s election appears to be very high.
Polls are open in both states Tuesday from 7 a-m to 8 p-m.
New governors will be elected in both states as Tim Walz in Minnesota and Tony Evers in Wisconsin are not seeking re-election. Democrat Amy Klobuchar faces Republican Lisa Demuth in Minnesota and Democrat David Crowley is matched up with Republican Tom Tiffany in Wisconsin.
All congressional seats in both states are on the ballot with incumbent Republican Pete Stauber taking on Democrat Trina Swanson in Minnesota’s 8th District and Democrat Fred Clark is matched up with Republican Michael Alfonso in Wisconsin’s 7th District.
For the U-S Senate in Minnesota, Republican Michele Tafoya faces Democrat Peggy Flanagan.
There are also contested state house and senate seats in both states.
Many of the closely watched races have set campaign spending records and early voting in Minnesota has set a new midterm record.
