DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Residents and businesses in Duluth will be mailed a brochure from the city that outlines what a snow emergency involves.
Over 2300 signs were installed that designates the snow emergency routes.
After a snow emergency is declared, the public will have five hours to remove vehicles from the routes or they will be towed at owner expense.
The snow emergencies will be announced on mainstream and social media outlets and Northland Alerts will be delivered by email or phone call to those who are signed up for the service.
Parked cars are the biggest obstacle that plow drivers encounter when clearing roads so understanding when and where to park during a snow emergency will help improve plowing response times.
The brochures also include a parking calendar for odd-even side parking and where to park during called emergencies.
The 41,000 brochures are being mailed this week.
