MT. IRON, MN (KDAL) – A 48 year old man from Bertha was airlifted to a Duluth hospital following a snowmobile accident on Sunday afternoon.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, the snowmobile operator, Barry Hartman, was traveling southbound along a power line clearing near Mountain Iron when he struck a rock.
Members of the Virginia Fire Department were able to transport the victim about a quarter mile to Highway 169. From there, he was airlifted to Essentia-St. Mary’s in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries.
