DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The City of Duluth this week is beginning work on trailhead and landing improvements at the recently restored Perch Lake.
While work is underway, the landing, parking lot, fishing pier and trail access will be closed to the public.
The project includes paving the parking lot, stormwater management improvements, adding an adaptive kayak launch, picnic facilities and a vault toilet.
The project is funded in part by a grant from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative through the Minnesota DNR and is expected to be complete by mid to late July.
The restoration of Perch Lake by the DNR and Minnesota Land Trust removed accumulated sediment and widened a culvert to improve water circulation between the lake and the St. Louis River.
