DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Island Lake in Duluth is the scene of the 31st Annual Kolar Toyota ALS Fishing Tournament on Saturday.
The event organized by the non-profit Never Surrender Inc is called “Casting For A Cure” and raises funds for individuals living with ALS.
There are two ways to participate, fishing in person at Island Lake or virtually at any lake in North America by uploading their catch to the FishDonkey app.
Registration begins Friday at 5 p-m in the Ward Wells Field House at UMD where anglers can complete necessary paperwork, collect a boat number and receive a gift bag.
Registered anglers launch Saturday morning at Island Lake. An awards dinner and silent auction will be held back at the Field House.
ALS is a progressive neuro-degenerative disease for which there is no current cure or treatment.
