DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Bridge repair work begins Monday in the area of Mesaba Avenue, I-35 and Superior Street in Duluth.
The 3.1 million dollar project is on the Michigan Street bridge over Mesaba Avenue and Mesaba Avenue bridge over Superior Street.
The first stage of that project will require the westbound closing of Highway 194 (Mesaba Avenue heading up the hill) between West Superior Street and West 1st Street.
The preferred detours have been posted. There will be no direct access from I-35 to Mesaba Avenue or eastbound West Superior Street to Mesaba Avenue during this phase.
This will be the first of three stages of the work that will continue into late July and the overall project will last through October.
