WHITEFACE RESERVOIR, MN (KDAL) – It is believed that a lightning strike started the fire that destroyed a Whiteface Reservoir home early Tuesday morning.
Several fire departments and law enforcement agencies were dispatched to 2255 Harris Bay Road at 2:42 a-m.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department says the two occupants of the residence and two dogs were able to get out of the house before it became fully engulfed in flames.
The residents and neighbors heard a loud boom during a thunderstorm that passed through the area just before the fire was reported.
The home is considered to be a total loss and the incident is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Department and Minnesota Fire Marshall’s Office.
