Kraft inks new deal with Packers: The Green Bay Packers have signed tight end Tucker Kraft to a contract extension. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Saturday.
Kraft, who was selected by the Packers in the third round (No. 78 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft, has played in 42 games with 33 starts in his first three seasons and has started all three postseason contests he has appeared in. He has registered 113 receptions for 1,551 yards (13.7 avg.) and 15 touchdowns in the regular season and hauled in 10 passes for 50 yards (5.0 avg.) and a TD in the postseason. Kraft posted the most receiving yards and the second-most receptions by a Packers tight end in his first three seasons in the NFL (since 1970).
He became just the third TE in the league since 2000 to post 100-plus catches, 1,500-plus receiving yards, 15-plus receiving TDs and an average of 13.5-plus yards per catch in his first three NFL seasons, joining Mark Andrews (2018-20) and Rob Gronkowski (2010-12). Kraft ranks No. 1 in the NFL since 2023 (min. 100 targets) in passer rating when targeted (135.0). Among TEs with 50-plus receptions, he ranks No. 1 in the league since 2023 in yards after the catch per reception (9.1 avg.) and No. 2 in yards per catch (13.7 avg.).
Roster moves: The Green Bay Packers elevated wide receiver Bo Melton and linebacker Kristian Welch from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Saturday.
