BEATTY TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – On Friday afternoon, first responders were called to the 9100 block of the Voss Road at Lake Vermilion for a possible electrocution.
According to witnesses, a 39 year old male was swimming in the lake when he grabbed onto a docked boat. At that time he appeared to receive an electric shock and went unconscious.
The boat’s electrical system was apparently plugged into a nearby boathouse at the time of the incident.
Despite life saving efforts by EMS personnel, the victim died at the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating and the name of the victim has not yet been released.
