D.C. United transferred forward Jacob Murrell to Falkirk FC of the Scottish Premiership, the club announced Friday.
Murrell, 22, joined D.C. as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft and signed a three-year contract through 2026 with an option for 2027.
The striker contributed four goals and five assists in 65 appearances across all competitions. As a rookie, he had one goal and three assists in 27 matches (six starts), plus three appearances in the 2024 Leagues Cup.
Last year, he tallied two goals and one assist in 24 appearances in the regular season, plus one goal in two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup appearances.
He has come off the bench in eight games this season and has one assist. He played in one U.S. Open Cup match.
“Jacob is a local talent who came to us as a first-round draft pick and grew into a professional over three seasons with this club,” said managing director of soccer operations Erkut Sogut. “He gave this fanbase moments they will remember for a long time, and he earned everything he got here through his work.”
