(LEARFIELD) – The return of two injured starters like safety Brian Branch and center Cade Mays will be big for the Detroit Lions as they host Green Bay Sunday.
Coach Dan Campbell’s team has given up almost 300 yards per game in the air this season, resulting in more points allowed than every NFL team but two.
Jordan Love has hit his stride for the Packers and he’s getting some help, too.
Although he will be on a restricted snap count, veteran running back Josh Jacobs will start for the first time this season.
Looking at the Lions: Packers coach Matt LaFleur talked about how the return of Branch will affect the Lions defense.
Offensively, LaFleur said that he has respect for wide receiver Ahman Ra St. Brown.
He also talked about preparing for running back Jahmyr Gibbs.
And then there is Lions quarterback Jared Goff who has been hot the last few weeks.
Back achers: While the Lions are getting healthier, the Packers have a starting quarterback in Jordan Love who has a bad back.
LaFleur talked about when he found out about that.
Love updated reporters on his back.
Middle of the line: Packers center Sean Rhyan talked about the return of Josh Jacobs.
Rhyan said that Jacobs knows where the hole will be before the ball is even snapped.
Ryan added that Jacobs looked like he had some real bounce to his step.
Will Jacobs make the offensive line look better?
Backing up: Remember the excitement when the Packers were rebuilding their offensive line on the fly and they signed free agent guard Kevin Zeitler?
For right now, Zeitler is a backup and he talked about that.
Is he really still taking steps with the scout team?
What have the first few weeks been like for him?
